Additional Information

VITAMIN A. There are at least 12 derivates in nature. It is essential for glycoprotein synthesis: cell proliferation, vision (rodopcine formation), bone remodelation, functional reproduction of the skin. It is foun in green forages, but it degrades fast. It is the most deficient acquired in horses with usual diets. Colostrums is rich in Vitamin A. deficiencies are causes by: In growth: poor quality forage, stored for a long time or just with oats or barley. It may have variable grades of night blindness, anorexia, weakness, wire hair, convulsions (in extremes), tearing, respiratory infections, salival abscesses, foot dryness, sking hyperkeratinized, drop in conception rate, intracraneal pressure elevation, fetus development problems, failures in immune response, spermatogenesis problems.
Vitamin A deficiencies in cattle are related with a bad general body condition and with problems in production, wire hair and disease tendency. Suplement of VITAFORT-ADE+B® avoids these problems or corrects them if already present.

VITAMIN D. Involved with calcium and PTH in bone maintenance and growth, vitamins D2 and D3 ⇒ 1,25 dihydricolecalcipherol, dehydroxicolecalcipherol, are found in liver and kidney respectively. A deficiency in vitamin D from a nutritional problem or a deficient sunlight exposure, may cause rachitic young animals and osteomalasya in adults and that is the reason for its supplement either alone or with other vitamin elements. Vitamins are necessary even in well fed animals. It supplement rises reserves of these vitamins and, particularly in horses with susceptibility or genetic predisposition for one disease. For instance, it is known that absorption of these vitamins together with some of B complex are seriously compromised after entero-abdominal surgery, diarrhea, etc. therefore it is recommended to use vitamin B complex vitamins, liposoluble in low doses but repeatedly and vitamin C. even if ostechondrosis is multifactorial, its has been related to an excess in calcium en diet combined with an excess of vitamin D.

VITAMIN E. Antioxidant that prevents peroxidation of membrane lipids leads to tissue preservation, specially with exercise and also reduces free O2 radicals. Tocopherols are more active (being alfa the most potent) and is found in alfalfa, grains, cereals. They are essential to immune system work.

VITAMIN B-1. (Tiamin) Is a pyrimidin molecule united by a tyazol bond with metylen, and is a hydrosoluble vitamin. Its activity consists is to functions as a co-enzyme in essential molecule formation in Krebs cycle and fatty acid synthesis. Specially nervous tissue is susceptible to disorders in case of deficiency. It is well absorbed in gastrointestinal tract by passive diffusion and active transport.

VITAMIN B-2. (Riboflavin) is a molecule with a ribose chain, and belongs to hydrosoluble vitamins group. It has an important role in carbohydrate metabolism, aminoacids and lipids, mitocondrial respiration and oxidative phosphorilation.

VITAMIN B-6. The three forms (pyridoxin, pryridoxal and pyridoxamine), are pyridin substituted compounds,. and belongs to hydrosoluble vitamins group. It acts in a wide range of reactions in metabolism and aminoacid conversions. It is absorbed mainly in small intestine by passive diffusion and is transported to liver where it is metabolized and exported.

VITAMIN B-12. (cyanocobalamine) it is a corrinoid molecule (four pyrrol nucleus coordinated by a central cobaltum molecule), and belongs to hydrosoluble vitamins group. It is involved in coline and metionin synthesis, and is very important in nuclear maduration and cell division. Particularly in erytrhopoiesis it is absorbed in small intestine by a transporter method.

NICOTINAMIDE. It is an amid on nyacine (vitamin B-3), and belongs to hydrosoluble vitamins group.. it works in oxidateive-reductive reactions and metabolic processes of carbohydrates, lipogenesis, oxidation and fatty acid synthesis, degradation and synthesis of aminoacids and steroid synthesis. It is absorbed in gastrointestinal tract by passive diffusion.
