Healing wounds require a complex process of cellular events that start by “loss of inhibition of growth be cellular contact”. This is, being a space without cells in a wound, protein synthesis starts and swelling factors promote cellular division and angyogenesis as well as fibroblastus migration to form a matrix on which re-epiteliazation may be formed.
Skin continuity ad adjacent tissues is reached by tissue substitution. For this to happen several requirements are needed: that the wound is oxygenized, and has sufficient blood supply, epithelial growth and a matrix of collagen (that represents 75% of skin weight) and a wound clean of bacterial agents and fungus. It has been documented that a contaminated wound is that that has 1 x 105 bacteria/g of tissue. Below this figure, wound reparation may be given without alterations. Otherwise there will be contamination, defense migration to the site, exudates formation, pus and in the better of cases healing by second intention with formation of an apparent scar and less strong in terms of skin elasticity.

In fact, it is known that original elasticity and strength from a healthy skin is never recovered, but the most similar it can get to the original is by a good care of the wound. This is what PISAN N.F.®, was designed for with a wide spectrum antibacterial as sulfametazine, phenol acts as a protein precipitator which neutralizes fungi and many viruses and Gencian violet and agent related with wound healing.

PISAN N.F.® does not reduce epithelial recovering speed nor cellular division in general, because sulfonamides do not act on animal cells.
