Calcium and Phosphorus:
Calcium and phosphorus have an important role in metabolic processes regulated by parathormone, calcitonin and vitamin D, specifically on bones, kidneys and intestine in order to balance their levels in the body.
If calcium and phosphorus levels are nor adequate, alterations may occur in acid-base balance, bone development, neuromuscular function, haemostasis and milk production, among other processes.

Mechanism of action:
Ionized calcium concentration in plasma is kept by several mechanisms, among them, intestinal absorption from gut, fast exchange with bone calcium and excretion by kidney route. Parathyroid hormone and vitamin D have main functions in calcium homeostasis. A reduction in calcium concentration increases secretion of parathyroid hormone while its elevations inhibits it. Calcium homeostasis is directed to avoid hypocalcaemia, which can produce tetany and risk of death, and that is why when factors as farrowing, lactation, etc. can lead to a hypocalcaemia situation in which supplementation becomes necessary immediately

Calcium borogluconate:
Is adequate for administration in large doses by intravenous route  (according to indications) intramuscular and subcutaneous, for prevention and therapy of conditions elevating calcium requirements. Fast administration should be avoided because of the risk of arrhythmia and hearth blocking

Magnessium hypophosphite:
Besides being and important phosphorus source, it is to a lesser degree of magnesium. Magnesium has important functions as metabolism of ATP regulator, in cell membrane functions, nerve conductivity and several hormone and enzymatic processes. Its administration is recommended by the intravenous route.

Cafein:
It is an analeptic (stimulant of central nervous system) derived from methylxantine that increases alert state, reduces fatigue sense and increases muscular work capacity. It has a wide safe margin in all species. Inhibits phosphodysterease, and has a diuretic effect and is preferred for treatment of bronchial spasm and asthma.
Cafein stimulate adrenal cortex and medullar centers, increases mental alert and reduces response time for motor activity. One of its main effects is respiratory stimulation and bronchial dilation as well as an increase in cardiac frequency.
