DOSE AND ADMINISTRATION ROUTE:

DAYLY AVERAGE 3 ml FOR EACH 50 kg BODY WEIGHT

WARNINGS:

This product should not be used 10 days before slaughter of animals intended for human consumption.

Do not use this product in horses intended for human consumption ◊ Do not consume milk from treated animals until 72 hours after last dose.

Keep in a dark and fresh place for storing

Its sale requires medical prescription.

Note: During treatment it is important that animal drinks sufficient water.

There are predisponent factors that favor proliferation of infectious processes for respiratory, digestive, genital and urinary systems, where important mortality and morbidity rates have been found in animal production.

This is why BUZINA-24%® (combination Sulfortimidine-trimetoprim) induces blocking of one enzymatic chain for metabolism and there as important synergy resulting from complementation and potency increment.

Sulfortimidine has a prominent place in infectious diseases therapy in domestic animals, specially for gastrointestinal system.

On the other hand, trimetoprim has a similar characteristics to sulfonamides and synergy of potency increment is even higher with association.

PHARMACOLOGY CHARACTERISTICS

Bacteriology potency of Sufortimidine is 20 times higher in the presence of trimpetoprim. Sulfortimidine by itself is bacteriostatic, but sequential effect of BUZINA-24%® (Sulfortimidine-trimetoprim) on bacteria produce effect and rapid action.

BUZINA-24%® has an elimination half life of 4 to 6 hours, with a depuration of 1.88 ml/min/kg

BUZINA-24%® keeps therapeutic concentrations for 24 hrs. BUZINA-24%® penetrates easily CNS, and that is why it can be used in infections of the nervous system. Minium therapy with

BUZINA-24%® must be at least 1 week in order to avoid resístanse presence.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS

− Pneumonía in pigs by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae at a dose of 1 ml of BUZINA-24%® for each 15 kg body weight.

− For bovine pyelonefritis dose is 1 ml of BUZINA-24%® two times a day, at least for 3 continous weeks. It must be kept in mind that this is a persistent disease.

− BUZINA-24%® is ideal for therapy and prevention of pneumonia, particularly for cattle and horses that are transported through long distances.

− Given mechanism of actino of BUZINA-24%® components it is ideal for metaphilactic therapy. This is, when there are incipient signs of the disease in herd.

− BUZINA-24%® may be used with great eficciency in actinobacillosis, actinomicosis, mastitis, colisepticemias, infectious poliarthritis (Haemophilus suis) therapy, in mastitis specially that caused by Klebsiella sp., In bovine infectious cheratitis by Moraxella bovis, in lymphatic horse infections (Streptococcus equi).

− In horses BUZINA-24%® is used successfuly in osteomielitis, arthritis, actinomycosis, salmonellosis; therapy and it is extremely difficult to treat gastrointestinal infections, except that BUZINA-24%® must be used at least for 1 week in order to avoid resistance presence.

Do not combine BUZINA-24%® with dextrose, calcium gloconate, penicillin, tetracyclin and many other antiomicrobials, because it may cause BUZINA-24%® inactivation and/or by other antimicrobials. BUZINA-24%® must not be used in dehydrated patients, they must be hydrated first and the use BUZINA-24%®.
